Amavasya Shanti Puja

Amavasya Shanti Puja is performed to reduce negative energies and evil spirits. Amavasya comes from Sanskrit and refers to the new moon’s lunar phase. According to the Hindu calendar, Tithis refers to 30 lunar phases. As per Hindu mythology, the evil spirits get high or peak on the day of Amavasya. People consider Amavasya the most inauspicious day, except for Karthik Amavasya, which happens during the Diwali celebration. The day of Amavasya is a very auspicious time to offer prayers and remember the forefathers or ancestors.

The Hindu pandit suggested doing Amavasya Puja to appease the Pitras or evil forces to not trouble you. Across the globe, celestial bodies have always been of great importance to various religions. But in this aspect, Hinduism does not differ from this. Under Amavasya Puja, practitioners use the astrological forecast and some Hindu rituals to position these celestial bodies and their collective influence on the earth. For Hinduism, one of the important celestial bodies is the moon and there are various beliefs and rituals centralized around the waning and waxing qualities of the moon. The moon’s qualities indicate Purnima when it is in full glory, and Amavasya when it is not fully visible.

Due to Amavasya dosha, the native may lose all his strength and suffer from mental illness, and obstacles in his career and personal relationships. This Amavasya Puja helps the one to eliminate the Amavasya dosh. Perform the Amavasya Puja on the day of the native’s Chandra nakshatra or the Amavasya day.

What Is Amavasya Puja

Perform the Amavasya Puja only on no-moon nights. This puja holds immense power, shielding individuals from diverse evil forces and negative energies. This Amavasya Puja brings good health and fulfils all the desires and wishes of the natives. Perform the potent Amavasya Puja to appease Lord Vishnu. Completing this puja and fast pleases the ancestors as well, as they believe that ancestors visited earth on this night. They, in turn, bestow happiness and peace upon their family. The new Moon night, or Amavasya, only occurs once per lunar month. On this day, people do not conduct any significant rituals. During Amavasya, we believe that the Moon’s gravitational pull strengthens, adding strain to our ability to maintain a healthy balance of mind and body. On this night, things and feelings are at their most extreme, therefore some people feel physically or emotionally affected. Things and emotions are at their peak as some people feel emotionally and physically imbalanced on this night. On the Amavasya puja, people suggested having a fast to attain a balance between mental and physical health. Lord Vishnu bestows his blessings by granting all of the native’s wishes, bringing about prosperity and happiness when people worship him on Amavasya. Performing Lord Vishnu puja in addition to Amavasya puja would unquestionably benefit people afflicted by evil spirits and the evil eye. For this Yagya, you can consult Ask Ganesha and arrange a hassle-free Homam from anywhere in the world.

Importance And Significance

Based on Hindu scriptures, November month is for Amavasya month which is auspicious to perform Amavasya Puja. In the month of Marghashirsha, which is November, people dedicate themselves to Lord Krishna. The devotees view the start of the year as Marghashirsha month in the satyug era. The new moon day in Hindu culture recognizes Amavasya puja. Due to its connection to numerous celebrations, this day is prominent in Hindu literature and scriptures. Amavasya puja Day is a suitable day for performing Sharadh ceremonies, hence it is a good opportunity to honour ancestors. The new moon falls on Chaturdashi Tithi this month. Based on the Gregorian calendar, people will observe it for more than two days. During Amavasya, negative and bad forces are thought to be at their strongest and to plague the living things.

Puja on Amavasya makes one joyful and tranquil and shields the native from all harmful and evil forces. Amavasya often refers to Ancestors’ Day. Our forefathers were thought to have come to earth to visit their offspring. Offering them food and Amavasya puja satisfies them, and they bestow upon their offspring prosperity, happiness, and tranquillity. This puja is extremely helpful in eradicating or lessening the negative effects of Kal Sarp Dosh.

Which God Is Worshiped On Amavasya Puja

The powers of evil spirits become weak during the Amavasya Puja because it is believed that the powers of the evil spirits get stronger on the Amavasya night. No auspicious work or activity gets started on Amavasya due to this reason. As per Hindu dharma, the belief behind Amavasya Puja or Amavasya Day is that if someone starts something new on this day, maybe it will not succeed. The devotee worships Goddess Kali and Lord Shiva on Amavasya Puja to destroy negative energies and evil energies. Pandit suggested performing Amavasya Puja if the native suffers from any kind of dosh or is born on Amavasya or a full moon day. As per Vedic astrology when a native suffers from Amavasya dosh means the sun or moon position is a conjunction. On the night of Amavasya Things and emotions are at their peak as some people feel emotionally and physically imbalanced on this night.
